Imogen Heap Live

So on Thursday I went to Bristol to see Imogen Heap Live. Wow. Not only was she even more awesome than I imagined, the support artists were at the same level of amazingness. If you ever get the chance to see Imogen, Tim Exile or Back Ted n Ted, then go for it!!

Just as a heads up, Imogen makes most of her music using samples (make a sound, loop it etc throughout the song), hence why you see loads of random things on the stage. I’m poo at describing, so probably best to just watch and enjoy! :) You’ll also see Imogen do things with her wrists, she has microphones on them to pick up certain sounds. Clever stuff, hey?

By far the best gig I’ve seen, to see each song come together in front of you is just incredible. And Imogen is just ace, sipping a cup of tea on stage, that’s rock and roll ;)

Of course, I’m going to say “watch them all”, but if you don’t have time, at least watch “Headlock” and “Hide and Seek”.

Paramore – Fricking Awesome

I can’t even begin to describe how good Paramore were last night, so instead, I’ll let the videos do the, errr, singing.

Spotify

I love Spotify. I use it every day, and have many playlists (both collaborative and private). I’m a Premium subscriber too, and can thoroughly justify spending £10 a month for all the music.

But.

Spotify is lacking some real key features in my opinion. So, I thought I’d share:

  1. Sorting – At the moment, my playlists are all over the place. Just a simple “Sort by…” feature would be cool. Alphabetically would do the job a treat
  2. Downloaded tracks – Ok, so when I’m driving, I like to play my downloaded tracks instead of cocking about with weak 3g signals and so on. But, I’m limited to one playlist. Ideally, I’d like to be able to shuffle all my “downloaded” songs, or make a playlist on-the-fly from said downloaded songs.
  3. Add entire album to playlist on iPhone. In the main app, I can drag an album on to “new playlist” and it’ll save (duh) as a new playlist, titled nicely. I’d like to do that on my iPhone too, really :)
  4. Play in the background!!!! I know this is an Apple restriction, but I think (and hope) its only a matter of time before I can load Spotify AND text people. Really, Apple should just let go…..

That’s it for now, there will be more I’m sure!

Fall Out Boy

Another video I never got round to uploading….. Fall Out Boy live at the CIA (Cardiff).

Not much to say about this, the gig was amazing, unfortunately I wasn’t right at the front, but its still a good watch / listen!

Enjoy :)

Scott Matthews

It’s taken me ages to get this uploaded, but finally, a video of Scott Matthews live at the Glee Club in Cardiff from a few months back. Apologies for the quality of the video, I wasn’t keen on filming in such a small venue, and the woman in front had a MASSIVE head.

Needless to say, the singing is AWESOME (Passing Stranger)

Enjoy :)

Maximo Park, at the Royal Albert Hall

Last weekend, Lauren and I went to see Maximo Park, live at the Royal Albert Hall. We’ve seen them live once this year already, but what the hell, playing the Albert Hall doesn’t happen every day!

What a gig, it was amazing. The videos don’t do it justice (especially the ones with me singing in the background!). It was by far the best Maximo Park gig I’ve been to, and it will take a lot to beat it! We even nearly met Lucas (the keyboard player), he was on his phone outside the stage door standing right next to us. I think when he clocked me trying to get the camera out, he vanished!!haha.

So, I’ve uploaded all the songs separately, my favorite is “Karaoke Plays”, which is just Paul and a String Quartet. Its awesome.

Enjoy :)

Joshua Radin & Meiko

On Tuesday, Lauren and I went to see Joshua Radin at the O2 Academy in Bristol. We’ve enjoyed Josh’s music for a couple of years now, so to see him live in the UK was just awesome.

Coupled with that, we got to meet him after and get piccies. Wooo! His support artist, Meiko, was damn good too, wish I’d have recorded more!

Live Music

There’s nothing like the sound of live music to put a smile on my face. So, I try and keep a memory of the giggs (good or bad!). I’m adding them as I get time, still to come is Fall Out Boy and another Maximo Park Concert, along with Evanescence and The Rasmus when I can find the clips again!

The camera work is, well, shit. So my apologies, but I wasn’t going to bring the tripod! :P

So for now:
